Pastor in Residence

The St. Andrew’s College community is enriched by our pastor in residence

The pastor in residence shares in mentoring the spiritual life and growth of our students and is available to all members of the community for pastoral support.

I was born and raised in South Korea. I pursued a theological education at Hanshin University and several years later, earned Bachelor of Theology and Master of Divinity. In 2011, I was ordained in the Presbyterian Church of Republic of Korea (PROK) while I had worked for two committees in the General Council office of PROK, Peace and Reunification and Gender Justice Committees.

I arrived in Canada in 2014 to begin my Master of Theological Studies at St. Andrew’s College. It was through this encounter and under the faculty members’ tutelage I received my academic and pastoral training and call to the ministry in the United Church. I was then called upon to minister of Wilkie and Cut Knife United Church in Saskatchewan where I served for four years before moving over 3,500 km to St. Davids-Queenston United Church, Ontario.

I love singing with guitar, travelling, and sports. I am a loving helpmate to my spouse (Rev. Yujene Oh) and the proud daddy of two daughters (Soul and Dana).

I think this position will not only give me the opportunity to share my experiences as a student at St. Andrew’s College, but also to learn new things through meeting students and school staff. As a racialized person, I will help other exchange students or international students adjust to school life.
